Harassment by Car Dealers

Businesses should treat their customers with dignity and respect.  Many car dealers follow this rule, recognizing that satisfied customers are their best assets.  Unfortunately, some car dealers seem to seek sales at any cost.

Many professions and businesses suffer from stereotypes.  These stereotypes can result from wide-ranging practices or the well-publicized actions of a few.  Car dealers have suffered from stereotypes that, one would hope, resulted from actions in a less consumer-friendly time.  However, some car dealers persist in acting in a way giving the car business and ethical car dealers a bad name.

There are numerous high-pressure marketing systems and techniques used by some car dealers.  A salesman might take a customer's keys with the alleged intent to seek an appraisal of a trade-in, and then fail or refuse to return the keys.  This results in the customer being held captive.  A salesman might also talk a customer into writing a check, "just to show his sales manager," and then fail to return the check when requested.  If harassment reaches a certain level, a consumer might seek the advice and assistance of an attorney.

If you believe that you have claims against a car dealer, or you would like an attorney to review your car purchase documents for potential legal representation, please complete the "Contact Us" form or call our office. If you would prefer to give more detailed information about your case, and you don’t have time to discuss it by telephone, feel free to complete this form - case submission form.
